REBECCA PARK CASE TAKES ANOTHER SHOCKING TURN AS FIANCÉ TESTIFIES HE HAD A SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HER MOTHER

A murder case involving a pregnant Michigan woman has taken another dramatic turn after her fiancé testified that he previously had a sexual relationship with her mother — months before he began dating Rebecca Park.

Richard Falor, who was engaged to 22-year-old Rebecca Park and was the father of her unborn son, gave the testimony during a preliminary hearing involving Rebecca’s mother, Cortney Bartholomew, and Bartholomew’s husband, Bradly.

The couple are charged in connection with Rebecca’s death and the death of her unborn child.

Falor told the court that he had been in a sexual relationship with Cortney Bartholomew from around April 2023 until September 2023.

He said the relationship ended about a month before he began dating Rebecca in October 2023.

Rebecca disappeared in November 2025, when she was approximately 38 weeks pregnant.

According to prosecutors, she had been lured to her mother’s home after being told about an inheritance check.

Rebecca’s body was discovered on November 25 in the Manistee National Forest, several weeks after she was last seen.

An autopsy found multiple stab wounds, while investigators also documented incised wounds to her abdomen. Her unborn baby was not found with her body and has never been recovered.

Prosecutors allege that Rebecca was killed as part of an attempt to remove her unborn child.

Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew have both pleaded not guilty to charges including first-degree murder, felony murder, torture, conspiracy and assault on a pregnant individual causing miscarriage or stillbirth.

The Michigan Attorney General’s Office has stressed that the charges are allegations and that the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The latest testimony brought an unexpected personal connection into the case.

Falor told the court that Cortney had contacted him in 2023 about handyman work, and the two subsequently began a relationship.

During that relationship, he said, they discussed having children.

Falor testified that Cortney told him she wanted another child but said she was unable to have one.

Months later, Falor began a relationship with Rebecca.

The two eventually became engaged, and Rebecca was carrying their son when she disappeared.

The baby was reportedly going to be named Richard, after his father.

THE NIGHT BEFORE REBECCA DISAPPEARED

Falor also described what happened shortly before Rebecca vanished.

He testified that Rebecca’s water broke the night before her disappearance.

A friend drove the couple toward the hospital, but Rebecca was later discharged without giving birth.

The following day, Falor said, Cortney and Bradly arrived at their home to pick Rebecca up.

He watched his fiancée get into a red Ford Escape.

It was the last time he saw her alive.

Rebecca never returned home.

CONFLICTING ACCOUNTS

Investigators have said Cortney and Bradly gave conflicting accounts about what happened to Rebecca.

According to court documents, Cortney eventually acknowledged cutting the baby from Rebecca’s abdomen, although her account differed from her husband’s and from other evidence described by investigators.

Bradly allegedly told investigators that Cortney wanted a child and that the couple could not adopt because of his status on the sex-offender registry.

Cortney, meanwhile, reportedly gave investigators a different explanation for the killing.

The conflicting accounts are now part of the evidence prosecutors are presenting as they seek to determine whether the case should proceed to trial.

MORE THAN 90 TEXT MESSAGES

Prosecutors have also presented dozens of text messages exchanged between Falor and Cortney after Rebecca disappeared.

Court testimony indicated that more than 90 messages were examined by investigators.

In some messages, Cortney allegedly claimed that Rebecca had left with another man and said she had given her $2,000.

Falor testified that Rebecca never came home and that he never saw the money.

Investigators later recovered Rebecca’s phone, while authorities continued searching for her.

Her body was eventually found in the national forest on November 25.

Her unborn son has never been recovered.

THE CASE IS STILL MOVING THROUGH COURT

Cortney Bartholomew and Bradly Bartholomew remain accused of killing Rebecca and her unborn child.

The preliminary proceedings are being used to examine the evidence and determine whether the case will move forward toward trial.

Rebecca’s half-sister Kimberly Park was previously charged with evidence-related offenses, but prosecutors later dismissed those charges. Falor has also faced separate drug-related charges, but he has not been charged with Rebecca’s killing.

The next stage of the preliminary hearing is scheduled for November.

For Rebecca’s family, the case continues to raise unanswered questions about what happened during the final hours of the young mother-to-be’s life — and where her unborn son may be.

The latest testimony has added another deeply personal layer to an already complicated case, revealing a past relationship between Rebecca’s fiancé and the very woman accused of helping bring about Rebecca’s death.

But the central allegations remain unresolved in court.

Cortney and Bradly Bartholomew have not been convicted, and the charges against them remain allegations unless and until proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
