NADIA MUCHA, 16, DIES AFTER BEING FOUND WITH “DEVASTATING INJURIES” AS MAN IS ARRESTED

A 16-year-old girl has died days after she was found with serious head and chest injuries on a West Yorkshire road, with police investigating an alleged hit-and-run.

WAKEFIELD, WEST YORKSHIRE — Nadia Mucha was only 16 when a tragic incident left her fighting for her life.

Police were called to Rooks Nest Road in Wakefield at around 8:30 p.m. on September 29 following reports of a serious incident involving a teenage girl.

Nadia was found with devastating injuries, including serious injuries to her head and chest.

She was rushed to hospital for treatment, but despite medical efforts, the teenager died four days later.

Her death has now prompted a major investigation by West Yorkshire Police.

NADIA NAMED AS THE VICTIM

Police have identified the teenager as Nadia Mucha.

Her name was released as officers continued working to establish exactly what happened in the moments before she was found injured in the street.

The circumstances surrounding her injuries remain under investigation.

Police are treating the incident as an alleged hit-and-run and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen what happened.

MAN, 25, ARRESTED

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has since been released on bail while further inquiries continue.

The arrest does not mean the man has been charged or found responsible for Nadia’s death.

Detectives from West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.

A police cordon was put in place around the area as investigators examined the scene.

Drivers were also urged to use alternative routes while the investigation was underway.

POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION

Detectives are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information about Nadia’s movements before she was found injured to contact police.

Investigators are particularly interested in information that could help them reconstruct what happened on Rooks Nest Road that evening.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Elly Buchanan, from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said officers were continuing to support Nadia’s family during what she described as a horrific time.

Police are working to establish the circumstances of the incident and provide the family with answers.
