Anna Kepner Case: Stepbrother’s Adult Murder Trial Delayed Until November

The murder trial of 16-year-old Timothy Hudson, the stepbrother of Anna Kepner, has been postponed as his defense team works to prepare for the upcoming proceedings.

Hudson is being tried as an adult in connection with Kepner’s death. His trial was originally scheduled to begin on September 8, 2026, but has now been rescheduled for November 2, 2026.

Defense counsel cited difficulties contacting “certain family members” as one of the challenges affecting their investigation and trial preparation.

The defense is also preparing for a Miller hearing, a proceeding that considers the circumstances and status of a defendant who was a minor at the time of an alleged offense and can be relevant to how the case is handled and sentencing considerations.

The delay gives Hudson’s attorneys additional time to investigate the case and prepare for the legal proceedings.

Hudson remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court, and the allegations against him have not been established as facts.
