Judge Schedules 2027 Evidentiary Hearing as Bryan Kohberger Seeks to Withdraw Guilty Plea and Get a New Trial

Bryan Kohberger Hearing Set for 2027 as He Seeks to Withdraw Guilty Plea

A judge has scheduled two key court dates in Bryan Kohberger’s case as he seeks to withdraw the guilty plea he entered in 2025 and pursue a new trial.

On August 26, 2026, Judge Steven Hippler scheduled a status conference for June 3, 2027.

An evidentiary hearing on Kohberger’s motion to withdraw his guilty plea is scheduled for June 17, 2027. The hearing will allow the court to consider evidence and arguments related to his request.

Kohberger is seeking to withdraw the guilty plea he entered in 2025 and is asking for a new trial.

The upcoming hearings do not mean that his plea has been withdrawn or that a new trial has been granted. Those matters remain for the court to decide.

The June 2027 proceedings could therefore become an important next step in determining whether Kohberger’s request will move forward and whether his case could return to trial.
