Crocodile Attacks Handler During Feeding, Dragging Him Into Pool Before Fatal Injuries

A crocodile handler has died after being attacked by the animal while feeding it, with witnesses describing a prolonged rescue effort that lasted more than an hour.

The incident occurred when the handler was reportedly feeding the crocodile and the animal suddenly clamped its jaws onto his leg before dragging him into a pool.

Video footage from the scene shows the injured man desperately clinging to the edge of the pool as bystanders attempted to help him escape the animal.

According to witness Gibson John, the man’s legs remained trapped in the crocodile’s jaws for more than an hour before rescuers were finally able to free him. John said the victim was in severe pain but was unable to scream.

As efforts to rescue the handler continued, police reportedly shot the crocodile in an attempt to save the victim.

The badly injured man was eventually taken to 3 Mile General Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries at approximately 7:00 a.m. on September 6, 2026.

The attack has left witnesses and members of the local community shocked, particularly because the victim was reportedly handling the crocodile as part of his work when the fatal incident occurred.

Following the man’s death, authorities subsequently closed the park until further notice.

The circumstances surrounding the attack, including the exact conditions under which the crocodile was being handled and what triggered the animal to attack, remain under investigation.

The fatal incident has also raised renewed concerns about the risks faced by people who work closely with large and potentially dangerous wildlife.

Authorities are expected to review the circumstances of the attack before determining whether additional safety measures or other actions will be required before the park can reopen.
