Brothers Rush Into Burning California Care Facility to Rescue Elderly Residents

Two brothers are being praised for helping rescue six elderly residents from an assisted living facility in Glendale, California, after a fire broke out Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred on September 11, 2026, at an assisted living facility near the brothers’ home. Alex Bazinyan, 20, and his 15-year-old brother, Narek, reportedly heard staff members calling for help and immediately rushed inside.

At the time, six elderly residents and two nurses were inside the facility.

The brothers, along with several neighbors, helped evacuate all six residents from the building before firefighters arrived. Their quick response helped ensure that the elderly residents were safely removed from the facility during the emergency.

After the final resident had been evacuated, an oxygen tank reportedly exploded inside the building. The blast caused part of the roof or structure to collapse, adding another dangerous element to the already chaotic scene.

Seven people were taken to a hospital for evaluation or treatment. The injuries were reportedly minor, although authorities continued assessing those affected by the incident.

The brothers’ actions have drawn attention to the role they and their neighbors played in helping the vulnerable residents escape before the situation became even more dangerous.

What caused the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet announced a definitive cause or indicated whether any safety issue contributed to the incident.
