PRESLEY GERBER’S DEATH AT 27: WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE TRAGIC REHAB FACILITY UPDATE

Presley Gerber had gone to a rehabilitation facility seeking help.

Hours later, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber was dead.

Gerber died Sunday morning at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Santa Monica police are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. At this time, authorities say there is no indication of foul play.

Police responded to the facility at approximately 9:35 a.m. on September 20 after receiving a report of a possible overdose.

Gerber was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

An autopsy has been performed, but the official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.

The Medical Examiner has deferred the determination while additional testing and studies are completed. Those results could take weeks or longer.

That leaves one of the most painful questions surrounding Gerber’s sudden death unanswered.

What exactly happened during his final hours?

According to reporting from the Los Angeles Times, Gerber had entered the Santa Monica facility only hours before his death. Detectives are also investigating the possible source of the drugs involved.

But behind the headlines was a young man who had spent years speaking publicly about his struggles.

Gerber had been open about mental health and substance abuse and used his platform to discuss recovery.

He even created a social-media series called “Mental Health Mondays,” encouraging people to talk more openly about emotional and mental-health struggles.

In a 2023 podcast appearance, Gerber spoke about his own experiences and said he hoped that sharing what he had gone through could help others facing similar difficulties.

His death has now brought renewed attention to that journey.

Presley was also known for his modeling career. He began modeling as a teenager and later worked with major fashion brands including Calvin Klein, Celine, Dolce & Gabbana and others.

For Cindy Crawford and the Gerber family, however, the public career is secondary now.

A family representative confirmed Presley’s death and asked the public for privacy during what the family described as an extremely difficult and painful time.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The final medical findings are still pending.
